01 / Adapt a lesson

One learning goal. Multiple paths.

Compare instructional supports while preserving the academic task.

Learning goal: Explain how evaporation, condensation, and precipitation move water through a cycle. Every version asks students to explain the same three processes.
Source lesson

The water cycle

Read the passage. Then write four to six sentences explaining how evaporation, condensation, and precipitation move water through a repeating cycle. Use each scientific term and describe the connection between the stages.

The sun warms liquid water in oceans, lakes, and rivers. Some water changes into water vapor and rises into the air. As water vapor cools, it forms tiny liquid droplets that gather in clouds. When droplets become heavy enough, water falls as rain or snow. Water collects on land and in bodies of water, and the cycle continues.

Success criteria

Identify all three processes; describe their sequence; explain that water continues moving through the cycle.
